I am finally done with cable . I did some research on smart tv and antenna to stream local news and NBC ,ABC , and so on . I literally have a guide to look for channels I was unsure of the outcome . And when I installed this HDTV antenna it was the best feeling for me when that picture came up with my local channel and beyond I felt like I hit the lottery. The reception is better than any cable channel I had on my cable provider service. Because the clarity was the most impressive thing I’ve seen with a HDTV antenna. My picture on my tv is so clear the I am canceling a few other subscription channels I purchased for my local news stations and shows that I am saving literally 280.00 dollars a month my last few months my cable company put hidden prices that they were charging me 291.00 a month for cable and boxes and networks I never even watched 90% of them channels and my kid is always streaming our on his PC . Wife only watched oxygen and nbc channels for there shows. Cable was a good thing back in my childhood days but now it’s a different world were cable doesn’t matter to kids and young adults and definitely not my old butt . Only internet connection all i need and a beautiful antenna and my smart tv and I am streaming feeling very young today and even younger tomorrow for the Super Bowl. I hooked up my bedroom, my son’s room and in the middle of getting my big tv in my man cave and running the antenna out my basement window and it’s snowing and it’s scanning more and more channels now that I have it plugged into my smart tv fire tv . I am so excited that I have no more cable bill that I am going to buy a pool table for my cave and another tv to hang behind my bar in my man cave. Hopefully if you read this review you’ll see that if you just take a chance and listen to the younger generation about how to operate the smart tv, and how to stream and if you are able to get a decent setup to stream your pockets and that old antique that’s been in your garage that you’ve been saying to yourself. Can’t wait to start saving money to build my dream car. Well guess what start streaming and your car will be on the road.. Happy Streaming $$$$$$

This was not what I expected…..it says will receive signals at 50 miles…..unless the sky is clear, in the morning, stations at 15 miles I only get 4 channels……sometimes

I can’t believe I didn’t try this sooner. I made the assumption that because I’m in an apartment building where it looked like I wouldn’t have reception, it wouldn't work and never even considered trying. Prior to this I owned a home in another state and went without TV for 3 years due to a serious falling out with an infamous cable provider--I'm a senior on Social Security, ergo a tight budget and they jacked up my charges every month by 50% to force me to resign a contract. I had tried a different brand of antenna in my former house, which didn’t work—apparently because it had aluminum siding--so hadn't a lot of confidence this time around. (In case this is helpful: In my area there was a free online site that provides tv schedules for those without cable and there are sites with helpful hints about using antennae, which upped my confidence. When you click on the show you're watching, the tv brings up info about that show and earlier and later ones on each channel, which is a help as well. I don't know if this is a function of smart tvs but that seems likely.) Luckily, friends I visited where I now live, who are pretty tech savvy, have gone this route and really encouraged me to do the same. They live in a home outside the city, so I wasn't completely confident but decided to check this out again. So, I did some research and felt comfortable that I was likely to be happy with this brand and the Ultra-thin Digital HDTV Antenna, with a range of 130 miles. If you're concerned about the installation: I’m a 73-year-old 5’ female with ‘devastating’ damage to both shoulders--typing this was quite painful--and I still had no problems installing the antenna. Easy Peasy. Plus, it didn't interfere with the DVD player that is still attached. I did try removing the amplifier, counter-intuitive, but was suggested, and the reception immediately improved. What surprised me was that it also worked much better lying flat, right under the tv. I moved the cable modem (for internet) a bit farther back, as that did seem to cause some interference, as the instructions indicated. At that point the picture equaled cable on all stations without wavering. (Today's cable requires a modem but you can purchase your own to eliminate the monthly rental fees, which my friends have done. I'm waiting until I move to see if I should do that.) I can’t believe how long I went without tv before. I’m getting almost as many channels as I got on cable at the low tier I had, but also more PBS channels than cable (one has ‘world’ programming) and a couple more new stations that are fun. The only ones I’ll miss when I drop off the cable set are The Weather Chanel and C-Span but they’re not worth the money I’ll save. I’m in a tough location and the picture is still great, so I’m expecting this to get even better when I move. And, the reception is equal to cable, which really surprised me. (I have a Roku TV.) On the very few stations where the reception is weak, I tweak the antenna and they're fine. My friend had suggested I add tv service to my bedroom, as it’s painful to lie down so I put off going to bed until—well, it’s 5:30 am right now... (With tv on in the background, I’ll likely fall asleep better, but, I couldn’t justify the extra modem with cable. The free antenna will really be a great solution.) Re the free antenna offer for a review: If this one wasn't working so well, it would have been better to return it and get a different brand, so that doesn't affect the nature of my review. I've already suggested this to other persons I know who have issues with cable, and, even if you retain your cable, you can bring in extra stations that cable may not include, as I have. I asked one question to their customer service at the address on the card that came with the antenna and they got back the same day. (I was just checking my email--totally out of control at 65K--and located their response, duh.) I plan on updating this with photos in the near future, one of the same station with cable and with the antenna, before I 'cut the cord', which will be in the next few days :)

I am very impressed with the capabilities of this little antenna. It receives all of our local stations and the picture quality is very good. We got an over the air antenna because we lose our satellite signal whenever the weather gets really bad and we need to be able to watch our local weather to stay safe. The reason for the 4 star rating instead of a five star is because when there is very heavy rain between our house and the station we will lose the signal. So far I have been able to move the antenna and I can get the signal to come back in. But that is not the time to be messing with the antenna when a tornado is knocking on your door. I really wish I could find an indoor antenna that won't lose the signal in heavy rain. I also don't want to have to get in the attic to install a large antenna.

I was skeptical, but this antenna really impressed me. Setup was super easy—just plugged it into the TV, placed it near a window, and scanned for channels. I’m getting 60+ channels in full HD (even some in 4K), and the picture is crystal clear. It’s small but sturdy, and the magnetic base makes it easy to position. Even during bad weather, the signal has stayed strong. Definitely worth it if you’re cutting the cord and want to stop paying for cable.

Not compatible with at least some Samsung sets. It looked promising but only one of the three TVs in different parts of our house picked up any stations at all, even though we have several within 30 miles. The one that did pick up stations got 7, but only one of those was one of the major locals. It turns out that my Samsung TVs have a "DTV Air" feature that it uses to find stations too. Those keep overriding the channel scan. Aside from that, little things that can also make a difference... the coax connector was difficult to turn because of the same-sized plastic covering at the end of the wire. On some coax cables they use a plastic piece to help you grip and turn the end. In this case, the plastic is stationary and leaves very little room to grip and turn the coax connector. My finger and/or thumb tended to be on both so there was a resistance to turning.

I had an old flat panel antenna that I did not use much as my condo includes basic cable in it's monthly condo fee. I mainly had it for those times when cable went out. Recently we had an outage of several hours and when I went to my OTA antenna I found it would only receive three channels. I tried rescanning but it did not help so I figured the old antenna was about dead. Upon examination I noticed that the antenna was delaminating which proved it was was time for a replacement. While I wouldn't go so far as to say this antenna lives up to it's hype (do any of them, really?) I was still very impressed with this antenna as it picked up about 47 channels. quite an improvement over the old one, as, even when it was new the old antenna only received between 30 and 35 channels. There is one network channel the new antenna doesn't receive and I suppose I could try moving the antenna for better reception but I don't watch that network much so I don't consider it important enough to bother. Overall this small stand antenna outperforms my original larger flat panel by a substantial amount. I can strongly recommend this antenna.

When I opened the box I kinda thought is this some kind of joke so I thought about it and maybe I should give it a try out I was surprised and skeptical at first this cigar shaped little antenna was good at picking up over the air channels. I was able to pick up 80 channels I live up on the tenth floor and my window frames are made of steel since the antenna has a magnetic bottom base I was able to stick on the side of the window frame then I programmed the the over the air set up am very pleased with this antenna I have to give five stars because it works great even on windy days and rainy days and nights absolutely fantastic I was surprised.

I bought this for my aunt who just entered a rest home. It was going to cost me $70 just for basic cable, so I decided we need to get free digital tv via the antenna style. We got the U MUST HAVE 250-miles range one and to test it, we attached it to my niece's 10 yr old inexpensive dumb LED TV. My niece installed the antenna's attached coaxial cable and USB plug to the back of her TV and follow the instructions on the package to download the software onto the TV...which took a few minutes to complete..just follow the downloading icon on the TV screen until it is finished. Figuring the higher I place the super light weight flexible antenna the better the reception, I placed it in the window about 8 ft above the ground, it received transmission with clear pictures on the TV screen. However, after I lowered the mini blinds back down, we lost all transmission. I pulled the blinds back up, but still no picture. So I moved the antenna all over the windows, and even behind the TV and on the walls, without any luck. In frustration, I set it down on the sofa and the pictures returned and stayed. In her big city, we received about 20+ channels, including, GRIT (western movies), GET TV (old TV shows), KCAL, and a bunch of PBS shows and shopping channels. However no ABC, CBS, NBC, or sports channels. The shows were either 720p or 1080p depending on the channels. My aunt's place is in the large flat desert region with about a half million residents, so I expect recession to be decent there also, although she may get less channels. I'm hoping she will be able to get the A, C and N channels when it gets install at her place. She doesn't watch anything beyond the basics. I think much of what you get will depend on your location and terrain. For our purpose, it saved us $70 a month to keep her entertained. I wonder how well it works in pine tree mountain communities...anyone? UPDATE March 27, 2021: I changed it from 4 stars to 5 stars because the seller was very responsive to inquiries.

There were so many options out there for antennas but we are happy we went with this one. We recently got rid of our cable box because we were paying $80 just for basic channels. We cut the cord and got this antenna. IT WAS SO WORTH IT. It was very easy to set up and we get all our local channels very clear with no disruption. We live in an apt on the 1st floor and even though we have upstairs neighbors, our signal comes in perfectly. Definitely choose this brand if you are considering cutting the cord on expensive cable!

I spent a few days exploring my new HDTV Antenna. I must say first that I was amazed at the reception that I got for all the regular over-the-air channels in my area, i.e., CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, PBS, CW plus many more that I didn't even know about. I have tried antennas before but they often pixilate and have sound break up while watching shows. So far all my regular channels have been chrystal clear, but some of the ones I had never heard of did pixilate at times. Now for the specifics. I first hooked up the antenna directly to the TV without all the amplifying extras. It was remarkablely simple. Scanning found 40 channels. I moved the antenna around to see about better or worse sites, but most were good and none got more than 40 channels, but some spots only found 37 but still found all the main channels. I live close to Toronto which is about 65 miles away from the CNN Tower. So I attached the amplifier to see if I could find those channels. I still only get 40 channels, so amplification did not extend as far as their ads suggested. In addition, I noted with amplification, the picture seemed a bit poorer. So I have disconnected the amplification system and I am using just the antenna. It is a wonderful way to get the local channels. I am now looking into FireTV and possibly their DVR which would allow me to record the local channels which is what I mainly record with cable. If all this works I might be able to cut the cord and greatly reduce my expenses for watching TV. What a great product your antenna is for the local channels.

Well, this couldn’t have been any easier. Literally plug and play! Boxed securely, shipped promptly, instructions were clear and easy to follow. I went to my phone to google the transmitter locations of the local stations, used the cable hookup instead of the USB( no reason other than I went to the port I was familiar with…USB would have been really easy tho) I read my TV (Samsung) instructions on how to scan for channels on Live Tv and came up with 46 stations right off the bat. I didn’t pull up Channel 7( Tyler Tx) so I moved the antenna to a different location and came up with 68 stations. Of those 68, 57 were crystal clear the others were just a bit distorted. Not concerned about that at all since the stations I hope to pull in, came in clearly! The antenna can be set to short range and long range. It was on long range out of the box so I just left it there to see what it would do. The area I am in is East Texas Piney Woods and slightly rolling terrain. I am really satisfied with this little jewel. As a bonus for me, it’s so easy to hook up so-we will take it on our travels in the Motorhome. Completely satisfied with this purchase!

This TV antenna is a great choice for families with children. It not only provides clear and reliable signal reception for all your favorite TV channels, but it also helps reduce the amount of time kids spend on their phones or tablets. With access to local news, educational programs, and family-friendly entertainment, kids can enjoy screen time that’s more enriching and less focused on handheld devices. The antenna is easy to set up and works in different rooms, so parents can also enjoy catching up on the latest news while the kids watch their favorite cartoons or educational shows. It’s a great way to balance entertainment, stay informed, and encourage healthy screen habits for the whole family.

The lowdown is this antenna works great; it dramatically improved the signal reception / picture quality of the channels I could receive without it, it picked up quite a few additional channels (most with perfectly clear reception), and it's easy to install. I connected it to the "coax/antenna in" port of a VIZIO smart TV (I just cancelled my cable service, so no cable box; if you have cable, you'll probably need to connect it to your cable box--see included instructions). I spent a couple hours testing it out. Without the antenna, my TV can receive 14 channels, but a bunch of them have fairly poor reception--and even the major broadcast stations (ABC, CBS, etc.) flake out when the weather gets bad. When I first installed the antenna (without the amplifier) I just laid it on a chair, and was able to pick up 23 channels. A small group from the same (low power) broadcast station don't come in well, but all the rest are crystal clear; and the HDTV broadcasts are phenomenal--even better clarity than the HD cable channels I had (before I cancelled my cable service last week). After playing around with the location of the antenna (up high on window, on wall near TV), I was able to pick up 2 more channels (25 total)--still no amplifier. When I first connected the amplifier to the antenna (using USB port on TV), I was able to pick up 29 channels! But 10 of those are from two separate broadcasters with low power transmitters (15 kW), and don't come in clear; the rest come in crystal clear; no pixelation or skipping. For comparison, the major networks (ABC, CBS, etc.) broadcast at or near 1000 kW. I played around with it a little more later in the day and was able to pick up another 3 stations (32 total, 22 with excellent clarity). Fortunately using the amplifier in my case didn't result in signal degradation or the loss of any channels, so I decided to leave it connected. For a short while I had the amplifier connected but not powered (meaning I didn't have the USB cable plugged in), just to extend the length of the cord while testing the location of the antenna. I noticed that this did result in signal degradation (which makes sense since the signal had to pass through all that extra circuitry and cable length with no power). So obviously the amplifier doesn't make for a good "extension cord" unless you keep it powered. Overall, the reception with the antenna is excellent compared to what might be expected. So definitely a good purchase.

There are a couple of things to know: First, with digital TV reception, there are no "shades of grey", that is, the picture is either received and decoded completely and displayed perfectly, or you get pixilation, freezing, or no picture at all. Ads that show fuzzy reception with inferior antennas are bogus. Second, claims of 200, 300 even 400 mile range are ludicrous. Perhaps, if you were located on a mountain top with a clear line of site path between the TV tower and antenna, you "might" see 100 mile range under ideal atmospheric conditions. Run like the wind from any manufacturer claiming these extreme ranges. Amazon should know better and ban this very misleading advertising. Having said all that, I purchased this antenna / amplifier combo and am quite pleased with its performance. I can't speak to it's suitability for outdoor mounting, but it comes sealed in a thin cellophane-like pouch that doesn't look like it would stand up well outdoors, long term. I live on a ridge in a rural area with an unobstructed view of a metropolitan area 40 miles distant. The antenna is located well inside my home, receiving virtually all TV stations in the area, which is to say in that direction with the antenna broadside to the towers there, without the amplifier powered on. You can use the antenna without the amp by simply unplugging the power and the signal will play through. Because I'm in a a weak cell phone area I use signal boosting cell phone amps inside my house. I found that connection a couple of "LTE filters", one on the output side of the antenna and one at the TV's input, I was able to receive a couple of weaker stations that didn't pop up without the filters in line. Strong cell phone signals can interfere with the amplifier's ability to boost weaker TV signals. The same performance boost would probably be the case if you lived very close to a cell tower. Switching in the amplifier made a marginal difference in obtaining a couple of weaker stations, but again, if you are reliably receiving the channels you normally watch there is no reason to amplify their signals. If one or more of these channels is at or near the minimum threshold of perfect digital reception, as evidenced by signal disruption (pixilation) during heavy rain or snow, etc.) having the amp available (in line but powered off until needed) is a nice feature of this combo. Also, if the amplifier is used with an already strong signal you will overdrive the front end of your TV's tuner and lose the channel entirely. In all, I rate this antenna five star for my particular application.

I downgraded my Xfinity cable plan to the Now TV package for $20/month, which doesn’t include any local stations. I rarely watch live TV and primarily DVR cable shows and use various streaming services. However Jeopardy is the one show on local TV I don’t miss, which I usually record and watch at my convenience. The savings on my cable bill was well worth the inconvenience of tuning in live when I could because current Jeopardy episodes aren’t available at all. Unless of course I subscribe to Hulu Live, YouTube, or one of the other platforms but those plans are significantly more than $20. Unfortunately, buying an antenna wasn’t the easy solution I had hoped it would be. I purchased and returned two antennas that claimed to cover several hundred miles but did not pick up one channel living in a heavily populated city with tv towers less than 15 miles away. I was about to give up on my plan and choose to pay for convenience, but I read on some tech site that this antenna was legit. I was skeptical but I was excited when I started the tuning search and several channels came up. I only cared about one and the one I wanted showed up perfectly clear. I attached it to the window behind the blinds and it’s not even noticeable. I wanted to test it out for a couple of weeks before writing a review, and so far so good. Needless to say, I’m very happy with this purchase. It literally is saving me hundreds of dollars a year.
